Fix breathing confidence, Windows desktop launch and clean UI builds, contributor-harness line-ending integrity, runtime secret hygiene, and remove the six ADR-299 CSI/person-data files from the current tree.
Reviews and fixes RuView's 10 most recent substantive issues, plus closes
the wiring gap flagged in the perception-substrate review (docs/adr,
gist, release notes from the PR #1579 review).
## Fixed
- #1526: UI falsely claimed "LIVE — ESP32 Hardware Connected" whenever the
unauthenticated /api/v1/status probe 401'd. Now sends the bearer token
on the probe (the fallback direction was already fixed by ADR-295).
- #1554: top-level `classification` (GET /api/v1/sensing/latest) was the
last UDP packet's single node, not the fused room aggregate, so it
flapped at packet rate with 2+ disagreeing nodes. Now derived from
`RoomInference` (ADR-297's `fuse_room`) at both call sites.
- #1541: per-node MQTT `presence`/`presence_score` read a `classification`
JSON key that does not exist on `NodeInfo` (the real field is
`node_inference`), silently falling back to the room aggregate for
every node — reproducing the exact "lockstep publish" the field report
measured. Also fixed the *existing* regression test for this bug,
which used the same wrong key in its own fixture and so never caught it.
- #1557: pose-fusion's `wsPortMap` only knew port 3000, so a remapped host
port fell through to `localhost:8765` (nothing there for a remote
viewer). WS port is now derived from `location.port` instead of a
2-entry lookup table (the "never render simulated as live" half was
already fixed by ADR-295's `onVerifiedFrame` gate).
- #1525: the no-model pose path already clamps keypoint confidence to a
0.1 floor, but the renderer's own threshold is also 0.1 compared with
`<=`/`>` — a keypoint at exactly the floor was still invisible. Floor
raised to 0.15 to clear the client's gate.
- #1556: `--mqtt-ca-file`/`--mqtt-client-cert`/`--mqtt-client-key` were
parsed and stored but never applied — TLS always used the system trust
store, so a self-signed broker always failed UnknownIssuer. Now builds
`rumqttc::TlsConfiguration::Simple` from the real PEM files (no new TLS
dependency needed). A file that can't be read logs why and falls back
to system trust instead of failing opaquely later.
- #1555: the MQTT availability heartbeat asserted "online" for every known
node on a fixed 30s timer regardless of whether that node's data was
still arriving. Now tracks each node's last-seen broadcast snapshot and
only reports "online" within a 10s freshness window, otherwise
"offline" — a frozen sensor can no longer look available. (The other
half — restarting a publisher that goes permanently silent — needs a
reproduction the reporter themselves weren't certain of; left for a
follow-up rather than guessing at the trigger.)
- #1540: already fixed on main (node-keyed RateLimiter, ADR-297).
- #1521/#1522: not fixable in this repo (published HF model artifact);
replied with the ADR-298 gate status and the exact byte-level fix for
the safetensors header, and corrected the README row that claimed the
file loads with the reference loader.
- #1542, #1527: replied — #1542 is a real, larger firmware+server feature
left open for follow-up; #1527's suggested fixes were already applied,
the one residual sample is an inherent first-frame paint gap.
## Certificate spine wiring (closes the gap flagged in the PR #1579 review)
`ruview-certify` and `ruview-policy` now depend on `ruview-ood` and provide
real `From<ruview_ood::DomainState>` adapters plus a composed entry point,
`ruview_policy::authorize_from_certificate`, matching the adapter contract
`ruview-policy`'s own doc comment already described but that no code
actually implemented. A new cross-crate integration test
(`acceptance_test_b_real_integration`) mints a real signed
`CapabilityCertificate` and proves a real post-drift `ruview_ood::Unknown`
denies a `SafetyCritical` action through the composed pipeline — not two
disconnected unit tests hand-setting the same enum value.
Also:
- Wires `evaluate_linear_head` (ADR-298 model-release gate) into a new CI
job so the checker itself can't silently regress; documents that gating
an actual model publish is still a manual step (no HF automation here).
- Wires `SourceState::export_watermark()` into `start_recording`: a
recording captured while the source is synthetic is now stamped in its
metadata (not the filename or per-line JSON, to avoid breaking
`delete_recording`'s path reconstruction or the training dataset
loader's schema).
- Updates docs/user-guide.md's "Developer Preview" section to describe
what's now genuinely wired vs. still not (no live continuous
calibration/OOD loop in the running server yet).
## Validation
- cargo test --workspace --no-default-features: 4391 passed, 0 failed
- cargo build --release -p wifi-densepose-sensing-server --features mqtt:
clean
- Server smoke-tested end-to-end against the simulator (real startup,
UDP/WS/HTTP listeners, /api/v1/sensing/latest stable across calls)
- Real ESP32-S3 hardware was NOT reachable this session (no COM port
present, zero UDP frames received after 40s bound to 0.0.0.0:5005) —
the multi-node fixes are validated by the new unit/integration tests
and full-workspace regression, not by live hardware.

ADR-292 (sensing-server): SourceState enum + pure transition (provenance.rs);
auth-error/unknown can never resolve to LiveVerified; synthetic exports
watermarked. Pose-fusion simulator starts SYNTHETIC and only shows LIVE on a
real decoded frame (#1557); sensing client no longer labels an unauthorized
status endpoint as live (#1526).
ADR-294 (sensing-server): NodeInference distinct from RoomInference (inference.rs);
deterministic freshness-weighted fuse_room; RateLimiter re-keyed to
(NodeId,EntityKind) so nodes do not starve each other (#1541); stale nodes go
unavailable not frozen-online (#1555).
ADR-293 (sensing-server): --udp-bind (default 127.0.0.1) + --udp-allow allowlist
+ fail-closed refusal of routable bind without allowlist unless --udp-insecure-lan
(udp_bind.rs); crate SECURITY.md documents the threat model and the deferred
per-device-auth step two.
ADR-295 (train): model_gates.rs — constant-output, unreachable-boundary (the
issue-1521 degenerate presence head), class-balance, baseline, and
metric-name-provenance gates.
ADR-296 (ci): scripts/csi-data-policy-check.sh (+ allowlist) and a workflow that
fails on tracked CSI-format/oversized-JSONL files; 6/6 self-tests pass.
Per-crate suites reported green by the swarm; CSI policy self-test 6/6 and JS
syntax verified here. Full workspace re-verification deferred until the
concurrent phase-1 spine build frees the target dir (disk pressure).

Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_015TcKegTS7QqhWPC2L2SzaS
websocket.service.js (used by the pose/event streams) opened a bare
`new WebSocket(url)` with no ADR-272 ticket exchange, unlike
sensing.service.js which already mints a ticket per connect. Since a
browser cannot set an Authorization header on a WebSocket upgrade, and
the server rejects a long-lived bearer passed as a query string
(CWE-598), the pose stream 401'd whenever auth was on — visible in the
Live Demo tab as "Failed to create WebSocket connection".
Fix: createWebSocketWithTimeout() now strips any `token` query param a
caller put on the URL (pose.service.js does this) and exchanges the
stored bearer for a single-use `?ticket=` via withWsTicket(), done at
this one choke point so every consumer (pose, events, training) and
every reconnect attempt gets a fresh ticket.
Second, smaller bug: pose-fusion/js/main.js auto-connected to a
hardcoded `ws://localhost:8765/ws/sensing`, but the Docker image serves
the sensing WebSocket on :3001 (the same 3000->3001 mapping
sensing.service.js already encodes) — the auto-connect dialed a port
nothing listens on. Reuses that port mapping and tickets both the
auto-connect and the manual "Connect" button.
Bumped the pose-fusion.html cache-buster (v=13 -> v=14) so browsers
actually fetch the updated main.js.
Adds ui/services/websocket.service.test.mjs (4 executed Node tests,
stubbed WebSocket/fetch/localStorage) covering: no-auth passthrough,
ticket exchange + bearer-never-in-URL, stray ?token= stripping, and the
pre-ADR-272 404 fallback. Wired into the CI "Run UI unit tests" step.
Reported with a verified fix in #1461 by wsc7r4zcj4-collab; this PR
implements the same fix against current main with an added regression
test.
Closes#1461
Make deployment consume the exact published sensing-server image, publish the two Python packages in lock-step, and enforce the production witness gate.
Reverses the release-wheel packaging change from 3ed43e9a after review.
That commit built the published wheels with `--features sota` so
`pip install wifi-densepose[aether]` would work. But it did so by abandoning a
DELIBERATE, guarded design: `default = []`, the
RuView#1387-default-wheel-budget-config fix-marker, and the wheel-size-budget
job exist specifically to keep the base wheel small and make SOTA opt-in
(ADR-117 §5.4). Building SOTA into every published wheel makes the base fat,
turns the `[aether]`/`[mat]`/`[meridian]` extras into inert no-ops, and — worse
— leaves the PUBLISHED wheel un-budget-checked (the budget job only builds the
no-features wheel), so the ONNX Runtime dependency the fix-marker anticipates
for `mat` would later balloon the shipped wheel past 5 MiB silently.
A pip extra cannot enable a cargo feature on a prebuilt wheel, so "small base +
opt-in SOTA in binary wheels" is only achievable by splitting into separate
packages — tracked as #1412. Until that lands, P6 is source-build-only, and the
honest thing is to say so.
This commit:
- Restores pip-release.yml to its original state (no --features in the release
build; original smoke test). Net packaging change across the branch is now
ZERO — the small-base design is fully intact.
- Points the aether/mat/meridian import shims at the real interim path: a source
build with `--features <x>` (or `--features sota`), and #1412 for the binary
wheels follow-up. The earlier revision wrongly claimed "the official wheels
include it", which is only true once #1412 ships.
KEPT from 3ed43e9a (correct regardless of packaging): the AETHER parity tests
are now arch-portable — they compare a golden VECTOR within tolerance instead of
a SHA-256 of raw f32 bytes, which only ever matched the one architecture that
generated it and failed on the aarch64/macOS-arm wheels this project builds.
Verified on aarch64/macOS with a `--features sota` build (as python-ci does):
test_aether 13, test_mat 7, test_meridian 13 pass; full suite unaffected.

Three coupled defects, all found by building the wheel and running the real
suite on Apple Silicon rather than trusting green CI.
1. THE P6 SOTA BINDINGS NEVER REACHED USERS (release blocker).
`pip-release.yml`'s cibuildwheel built the DEFAULT feature set, so published
wheels contained none of aether/mat/meridian. `pip install
wifi-densepose[aether]` then raised ImportError — and the extra is empty, so
its own error message ("install the [aether] extra") sent users in a circle.
A pip extra cannot enable a Rust cargo feature on an already-built wheel, so
the only way P6 reaches PyPI is to compile it in.
Fix: the RELEASE build opts in via `MATURIN_PEP517_ARGS="--features sota"`
(per-platform, since CIBW_ENVIRONMENT_LINUX overrides CIBW_ENVIRONMENT).
`default = []` in Cargo.toml, the RuView#1387-default-wheel-budget-config
fix-marker, and the wheel-size-budget job are all left UNTOUCHED — they keep
guarding the small base compile. Measured published wheel: 1.68 MiB, well
under the ADR-117 §5.4 5 MiB budget. Proven: built via the exact PEP517 path,
`import wifi_densepose.aether/mat/meridian` all succeed.
2. THE WHEEL SMOKE TEST COULD NOT SEE #1.
CIBW_TEST_COMMAND only asserted `hello()` and PRINTED `__build_features__`.
The one signal that would reveal missing bindings was dumped to stdout and
ignored, so a featureless wheel published green. It now ASSERTS the p6
features are present and imports the three modules. Proven red→green: fails
on the old featureless wheel ("missing SOTA bindings: [...]"), passes on the
fixed one.
3. THE AETHER PARITY TESTS WERE NOT PORTABLE ACROSS THE WHEEL MATRIX.
`test_aether.py` and the native `aether_parity.rs`/`aether_weights_parity.rs`
hashed the raw f32 embedding bytes (SHA-256) against a committed golden. The
embedding is pure f32 with transcendental ops (ln/sqrt/cos) that are not
bit-reproducible across CPUs/libm, so the hash only ever matched the one arch
that generated it. This passed in python-ci (x86) but fails on the aarch64 /
macOS-arm wheels this same project ships — latent until #1 is fixed and the
bindings actually load. Every tolerance/behavioral assertion already passed;
only the two byte-hash tests failed, which is the signature of a non-portable
golden, not a logic bug.
Fix: compare to a committed golden VECTOR within tolerance
(atol=rtol=1e-4 — ~100x cross-arch f32 drift, ~100x under any real algorithm
change), on both the Python and native sides against the SAME golden. Native
≈ golden and binding ≈ golden together prove binding ≈ native, portably.
`.sha256` goldens replaced by `.json` vectors.
Also: the aether/mat/meridian import shims told users to `pip install
wifi-densepose[<x>]` on a missing feature — an empty extra that cannot help.
Corrected to name the real fix (rebuild with `--features <x>`); message tests
updated to assert the honest message and forbid the misleading one.
Verified on aarch64/macOS: full `python/tests/` suite 227 passed against a wheel
built with the new mechanism; `cargo check --tests --features aether` clean.
The native `.rs` parity tests were converted by inspection and cargo-checked but
not executed — they link against the PyO3 crate and no workflow runs them today
(a pre-existing gap; wiring `cd python && cargo test --features sota` into
python-ci would make the native anchor actually run).

Findings from a qe-court adversarial round (4 prosecutors across 2 vendors).
Each was verified against the code before being accepted; the ones below
reproduced, the rest are reported in the PR thread rather than acted on.
FATAL — `/api/field` was reachable with no credential, on both listeners.
The gate protected `/api/v1/*` by prefix. `/api/field` is the REST sibling of
`/ws/field` and serves the same signed FieldEvent stream — live presence, pose,
vitals. `/ws/field` was gated in this PR; its twin one path segment over was
not. Measured with RUVIEW_API_TOKEN set and no credential supplied:
/api/v1/models 401 (control)
/ws/field 401 (gated by this PR)
/api/field 200 on :8080 AND :8765
Fixed by inverting the gate to deny-by-default with an explicit anonymous
allowlist (`/`, `/ui`, `/health`, `/oauth/`). A route added at a new path is
now gated because nobody exposed it, rather than exposed because nobody
protected it — the same inversion already applied to the scope gate.
FATAL — the wiring test disarmed itself exactly when it mattered.
`Server::start` returned an Option that all five tests turned into `return`,
so a server that failed to boot produced "5 passed" with zero assertions run,
and cargo swallows the skip line without --nocapture. The one test that
observes real wiring — the guard against both shipped bypasses — was silent
for any change that breaks startup, including a boot panic in the auth path.
It now panics with the child's stderr.
MAJOR — a malformed client-id list silently disabled the audience check.
An empty allowlist is the opt-out sentinel in verify.rs. `RUVIEW_OAUTH_CLIENT_IDS=","`
is non-empty, passes the guard, then filters to an empty Vec — turning the
audience boundary off with no log and admitting a token minted for any other
Cognitum product. Only a literal `*` may opt out now; anything else that parses
to nothing warns and falls back to the default. Same fail-open shape as the
scope denylist this PR already had to invert.
MAJOR — credentials were world-readable for a window on every refresh.
`fs::write` creates at 0666 & !umask (0644 by default), and both writers
chmodded afterwards. The existing permissions test asserted on the FINAL file
and passed throughout. Affected the CLI refresh token (rotated with reuse
detection — a thief who presents it first takes the session family) and the
browser session secret (the HMAC key for every session; stealing it forges any
account at any scope). Both now create with mode 0600 via OpenOptions.
MAJOR — ui/sw.js cached authenticated API responses.
Closing the /oauth/ leg left the /api/ leg open. `networkFirst` cached every
successful response, keyed by URL alone, purged by nothing at sign-out: sign in
as A, load sensing data, sign out, sign in as B, lose the network, and B is
served A's data with no authorization check. API responses are now network-only
— which is also the correct behaviour for a live sensing dashboard, where
replaying a stale reading can show a room occupied after the person left — plus
a cache purge on sign-out.
CI — 40 of ruview-auth's 87 tests never ran.
The workspace runs --no-default-features, which switches off the `login` and
`pkce` features. Measured: 47 tests vs 87. The whole interactive sign-in path —
credential storage, single-flight refresh, the file lock, the loopback callback
— was green locally and never executed in CI. Added an --all-features step.
(Checked the sensing-server for the same problem and did NOT find it:
bearer_auth's 49 and browser_session's 15 do run under CI flags.)
Tests: +2 wiring tests (one fails against the old gate with
"http port served /api/field to an anonymous caller", passes after), +3 UI
service-worker tests, +3 CLI scope tests, +1 temp-file permission test, +1
client-id parsing test. wifi-densepose-cli/src/auth.rs had zero tests and
builds its own scope string, so the library's least-privilege test said nothing
about what the CLI requests.
Verified: ruview-auth 61+25+2 pass (--all-features), sensing-server bearer_auth
50, browser_session 15, auth_wiring 7, workspace 25 suites clean, UI 22.

Browser sign-in worked, but the settings panel kept offering "Sign in with
Cognitum" afterwards; only a hard reload showed the true state. The server was
correct throughout.
Root cause: `ui/sw.js` routed cache-first as its CATCH-ALL for every path
outside `/api/` and `/health/`. `/oauth/status` therefore had its first
(signed-out) response stored in the Cache API and replayed to the page forever.
The Cache API is not the HTTP cache and ignores `Cache-Control` entirely, so the
`no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate` the server already sends could not prevent
it. A hard reload bypasses the service worker, which is why that alone appeared
to fix it, and why signing out re-poisoned the entry.
Fixes, in order of blast radius:
- `/oauth/` is never handled by the worker. Not network-first — that still
writes a copy, which would be replayed the moment the server is briefly
unreachable, silently reinstating a stale sign-in state.
- Cache-first is now an ALLOWLIST (navigations and static asset extensions)
rather than the catch-all. This is the underlying defect: any endpoint added
outside `/api/` was frozen on its first response. Unrecognised paths now go
to the network untouched.
- `CACHE_NAME` bumped to `ruview-v2`, so `activate` evicts the poisoned
`ruview-v1` from browsers that already ran the old worker. Verified: the
cache list went from `[ruview-v1]` to `[ruview-v2]` on update.
- Shell lookups use `ignoreSearch` and store a search-less key, so the
`?signed_in=<ms>` the callback redirects to does not mint a fresh, never-hit
cache entry per sign-in.
Also: re-check sign-in state on `pageshow` (bfcache restore, where no script
re-runs) and on `visibilitychange` (signed in or out in another tab). Opening
the panel alone is not sufficient — it may already be open.
Verification, in a real browser driven end-to-end:
- Reproduced with a valid session cookie: server returned `signed_in: true` to
curl while the page's own fetch got a cached `signed_in: false`, and the
request never appeared in the server log at all.
- Confirmed the cached entry existed: `caches.open('ruview-v1').match(
'/oauth/status')` returned the signed-out body.
- After the fix, on a NORMAL (not hard) reload the panel reads
"Signed in as <account> - sensing:read" with Sign out shown.
Tests: `ui/sw.test.mjs` loads the real `sw.js` with stubbed worker globals and
asserts the routing decision per path. 4 of its 10 tests fail against the
pre-fix worker and pass after; the other 6 pin pre-existing guards (non-GET,
websocket upgrade, cross-origin, API paths, static assets, navigation) and pass
in both, so they track behaviour rather than the rewrite.
CI: adds a `ui-tests` job. Nothing ran the UI JavaScript before, so both this
suite and the ADR-272 ws-ticket suite would have rotted unexecuted — which is
the same blind spot that let this defect ship.
Removes the temporary `/oauth/status` cookie logging and the panel console
diagnostic added while tracking this down.

The python/ PyO3+maturin wheel (wifi-densepose, ADR-117/185) had ZERO
per-PR CI coverage: pip-release.yml only fires on release triggers, so a
PR could break the wheel build, a native-Rust parity test, or the wheel
budget and nothing in the gating CI would catch it until release day.
New .github/workflows/python-ci.yml (path-scoped to python/** + the
backing crates, following the repo convention cf. firmware-ci.yml --
GitHub has no per-job paths filter and no workflow here uses a
change-detection action, so a dedicated path-scoped workflow is the
idiomatic, no-new-dependency choice):
* parity-tests: cargo build of the aether/mat/train backing crates
(fast-fail attribution), then `maturin develop --features sota` +
`pytest python/tests/ -q`. sota builds the aether/meridian/mat
compiled submodules so their SHA-256 parity tests against native
Rust actually run (those test modules import the submodules at
collection time -- without the features they error, not skip).
* wheel-size-budget: builds the DEFAULT (no-features) wheel and fails
if it exceeds the ADR-117 5.4 5 MiB budget -- the real numeric
enforcement a string fix-marker cannot provide.
Two fix-marker guards (scripts/fix-markers.json):
* RuView#1387-rvf-filename-collision: training_api.rs next_model_id()
must keep the microsecond timestamp (%6f) + AtomicU64 counter; the
forbid uses a negative lookahead so it fires only on a bare
second-resolution format lacking the disambiguator. Guards the
CI-caught collision fixed on this branch in 8409f434c.
* RuView#1387-default-wheel-budget-config: default Cargo features
empty, SOTA deps optional, maturin strip=true -- the config that
keeps the default wheel small. Bytes are enforced by the CI job
above, not a string marker (per the marker system's limits).
Verification:
- python scripts/check_fix_markers.py -> All 27 fix markers present (0 regressed)
- all 26 .github/workflows/*.yml parse (yaml.safe_load, utf-8)
- cargo build -p wifi-densepose-aether -> Finished (exit 0)
- forbid regexes confirmed: fire on a simulated regression, clean on the current tree

Reverts the OIDC-only publish path from cc153e8b5. Restores password:
${{ secrets.PYPI_API_TOKEN }} on all four publish steps and drops the
id-token: write / environment: pypi blocks from publish-v2 and
publish-tombstone. OIDC-only is a net regression until the manual
pypi.org Trusted Publisher registration exists — publishing would fail
'no trusted publisher configured'. Token auth is the active working path.
OIDC design retained as documented TODO(ADR-184 P1b) in the header; the
switch becomes a dedicated gated follow-up once the owner confirms
registration. Restores compliance with fix-marker RuView#786-pypi-token-auth.
Refs ADR-184 P1.
Drop all four PYPI_API_TOKEN password inputs from the publish-v2 and
publish-tombstone jobs, grant id-token: write, and bind both jobs to the
pypi GitHub environment so pypa/gh-action-pypi-publish uses secretless
Trusted Publishing. Rewrite the header + add step comments documenting
the blocking manual pypi.org trusted-publisher registration (ADR-184
§3.1) and the token fallback (§3.2). Build matrix untouched.

- single Zod validation gate; advertised inputSchema generated from the same
Zod source (zod-to-json-schema)
- train_count: parent log fds closed (was leaking 2/job); job records
persisted to <jobsDir>/<id>.json (job_status survives restarts); bounded
log-tail reads
- detectCogBinary probes its candidates instead of dead-coding them
- version from package.json; @types/express dropped; @types/jest -> 29
- README rewritten to match reality (no phantom subcommands/policy layer)
- 99/99 jest tests (incl. new session/body-cap suite + previously-broken
manifest suite); stdio handshake + HTTP session flow smoke-tested live
ADR-265 D1-D4:
- .github/workflows/npm-packages.yml: 3-package x Node 20/22 gate — tests,
version-literal grep (D3), pack-content/size gate, tarball-install smoke
test (catches the ADR-264 F1 class), README claim-check (D4)
- .github/workflows/ruview-npm-release.yml: publish from CI only with
npm publish --provenance
- @ruv/ruview-cli bin renamed ruview-cli (ruview bin belongs to
@ruvnet/ruview); version single-sourced
- ci.yml NODE_VERSION 18 -> 20
ADR statuses updated to Accepted/implemented; harness manifest re-pinned;
ADR-263/264/265 + both package READMEs pass claim-check.

* perf(rvagent): lazy-load HTTP transport + memoize generated tool schemas
stdio time-to-first-response ~242ms -> ~189ms (-22%; MEASURED, median of
repeated initialize round-trips against dist/index.js in this container).
- ./http-transport.js now imported lazily inside the RVAGENT_HTTP_PORT
branch: it chain-loads the MCP SDK streamableHttp module (~48ms MEASURED
via per-module import() timing) which the default stdio path never uses
- toolInputJsonSchema memoized per tool: schemas are static for the process
lifetime; under the session-per-server HTTP model every session calls
tools/list, so stop re-walking the Zod tree each time
No behavior change: 99/99 jest tests; HTTP session flow re-smoke-tested
through the lazy import path (initialize -> 200 + mcp-session-id).
Profiled @ruvnet/ruview too and left it alone: 50ms CLI startup vs ~29ms
bare 'node -e ""' floor on the same box (MEASURED) — already near the
interpreter floor with zero dependencies.

* fix(npm): address 10 verified review findings in harness + rvagent before 0.2.0 publish
harness/ruview (@ruvnet/ruview):
- guardrails: digit gate now sees numbers inside code spans; F1-style
metric tokens followed by ':' or a nearby number are no longer scrubbed
(fail-open regressions in the honesty gate)
- mcp-server: tools/call requests serialize through a FIFO promise chain
(hardware/mutating tools never overlap) while ping/tools/list stay
immediate; stdin close drains in-flight responses before exit
- tools: which() no longer memoizes negative lookups
tools/ruview-mcp (@ruvnet/rvagent):
- index: realpath invoked-directly guard — library import no longer
connects a stdio transport to the consumer's process
- http-transport: explicit allowedOrigins is exact-match only (localhost
any-port convenience applies only with no configured allowlist);
session map gains maxSessions=64 + 5min idle TTL sweep
- train-count: job records persist the child pid and reconcile stale
'running' status after a server restart (exit-code marker or dead pid)
- config: cog binary candidates ordered by process.arch
.github/workflows/ruview-npm-release.yml: port the full ADR-265 D1 gate
(version-literal check, unpacked-size budget, tarball-install smoke test)
from npm-packages.yml so the publish path enforces what the header claims.
Tests: harness 30→36, rvagent 99→112, all passing.

* ci(bench): wire v2 criterion benches into CI as a compile-verify regression gate
Sub-deliverable 8.3 of the benchmark/optimization milestone (needs ADR slot 174).
The v2/ workspace ships 26 criterion benches across 18 crates, but benches are
not part of `cargo test`, so nothing in CI compiled them and they silently rot
when a public API they call changes.
Add `.github/workflows/bench-regression.yml`:
- bench-compile (HARD GATE): `cargo bench --workspace --no-default-features
--no-run` compiles + links every default-feature bench (no measurement) plus
the cir-gated cir_bench — a real, deterministic regression guard against
bench bit-rot.
- bench-fast-run (INFORMATIONAL, continue-on-error, never gates): runs a
curated pure-CPU subset (nvsim, ruvector sketch/fusion) in criterion
quick-mode and uploads logs as an artifact.
No timing-regression gate, by design: wall-clock on shared GitHub runners varies
2-3x run-to-run, so a hard threshold or cross-runner `criterion --baseline`
compare would manufacture false failures. The honest scope is compile-verify +
informational-run; the workflow header documents the self-hosted-runner
condition under which true timing-gating becomes honest. The crv-gated crv_bench
is excluded because its crates.io dep ruvector-crv 0.1.1 fails to build upstream.
Running the gate immediately caught one already-bit-rotted bench:
wifi-densepose-mat/detection_bench failed to compile (E0063: missing field
last_rssi in SensorPosition). Fixed (last_rssi: None) and re-verified.
Validation (MEASURED): mat detection_bench + cir_bench + nvsim + ruvector +
vitals + swarm benches compile under --no-default-features; fast subset runs;
`cargo test -p wifi-densepose-mat --no-default-features` 174 passed / 0 failed;
Python proof PASS, hash f8e76f21...46f7a unchanged.

* docs(adr): ADR-174 — CI bench-regression compile-verify gate
Records sub-deliverable 8.3 (bench-regression.yml, committed c4c59e085):
a hard compile-verify gate over all 26 v2 criterion benches (caught + fixed
one real bit-rotted bench, mat/detection_bench E0063) + an informational
fast-run. Documents the honest scope — no timing-regression gate, since
shared-runner wall-clock varies 2-3x; states the self-hosted-runner condition
under which timing gating becomes honest.

* feat(ADR-262 P3): live RuField surface — RuView sensing speaks RuField on /api/field + /ws/field
Wire the P1 `wifi-densepose-rufield` bridge into the live
`wifi-densepose-sensing-server` so the governed sensing cycle emits real
signed RuField `FieldEvent`s on two additive endpoints.
- Cargo: add the `wifi-densepose-rufield` path dep (the single coupling
point, ADR-262 §5.4 — no new RuView-internal coupling).
- New `src/rufield_surface.rs` (kept out of the 8k-line main.rs):
`FieldSurface` holds a dedicated ed25519 `Signer` + a bounded ring of
recent events + the `/ws/field` broadcast topic; `GET /api/field` and
`GET /ws/field` handlers; a standalone `router()` for isolated testing.
- Signer (defers the P2 key decision, ADR-262 §8 Q1): a STANDALONE
dev/sensing key from `WDP_RUFIELD_SIGNING_SEED`, else a deterministic
dev default with a logged WARN. Reusing the `cog-ha-matter` Ed25519
key is the deferred P2 call — P3 does not pre-empt it.
- Tap: at the ESP32 governed-trust cycle (`main.rs` ~5886 observe_cycle
/ ~5938 SensingUpdate build), `emit_rufield_event` joins the cycle's
features/classification/signal_field with the engine's
effective_class/demoted trust state into a `SensingSnapshot` and
surfaces it via the bridge. Existing endpoints (`/ws/sensing` etc.)
are unchanged — purely additive.
- Privacy egress: `network_egress_allowed` is fail-closed for an
unattended live surface — only P1/P2 leave the box; P0 raw and
P3/P4/P5 (identity/biometric/aggregate) are held edge-local. A
`Derived` cycle maps to P4/P5 and never surfaces.
- No-phantom: `emit` drops no-presence cycles (no fabricated events).
Gates (tests/rufield_surface_test.rs, tower::oneshot, 4/0): well-formed
signed event (WifiCsi, P2 not P1, is_fusable, real timestamp); empty
cycle → no phantom; Derived trust never surfaces; mixed stream surfaces
only egress-safe events.
Honesty (ADR-262 §0/§6): real plumbing on a live endpoint, NOT accuracy.
Single-link CSI with its existing caveats (no validated room-coordinate
accuracy); dedicated dev signing key pending the P2 ownership decision;
no accuracy claim.

* docs(ADR-262 P3): mark P1+P3 implemented; document /api/field + /ws/field; CHANGELOG
- ADR-262 Status → "P1 + P3 implemented"; add a P3 implementation-status
block (tap site, endpoints, dedicated dev signer deferring the §8 Q1
key decision, fail-closed egress, gates). Keep the honesty framing:
real plumbing on a live endpoint, not accuracy.
- CHANGELOG [Unreleased]: add the ADR-262 P3 entry.
- user-guide: add `/api/field` to the REST table + a "RuField surface
(ADR-262 P3)" section covering `/api/field` + `/ws/field`, the
fail-closed P1/P2-only egress, the WDP_RUFIELD_SIGNING_SEED dev key,
and the no-accuracy honesty note.

* ci: checkout submodules everywhere + Dockerfile copies vendor/rufield
Making wifi-densepose-rufield (ADR-262 bridge) a v2 workspace member means
EVERY cargo-on-workspace context must have the vendor/rufield submodule
present (cargo loads all member manifests). P1 only fixed the rust-tests
job; this adds `submodules: recursive` to all workflow checkouts that run
cargo (mqtt-integration was failing on the missing submodule manifest), and
makes Dockerfile.rust COPY vendor/rufield/ to /vendor/rufield (matches the
bridge's ../../../vendor/rufield path-dep under the collapsed Docker layout).
update-submodules.yml left alone (it manages submodules itself).

* feat(rufield): ADR-262 P1 — wifi-densepose-rufield anti-corruption bridge
New v2 workspace member that converts RuView WiFi-CSI sensing output into
signed RuField FieldEvents. Path-deps the vendor/rufield submodule crates
(rufield-core/-provenance/-privacy/-fusion); single coupling point between
RuView and the standalone RuField MFS spec (ADR-262 §5.4).
- SensingSnapshot: owned primitives mirroring SensingUpdate + TrustedOutput
(no dependency on wifi-densepose-sensing-server).
- snapshot_to_field_event(): builds a WifiCsi FieldTensor + Observation,
derives a real position from the signal-field peak (never fabricated),
real sha256 provenance + ed25519 signature (synthetic=false).
- map_privacy() (§3.3 crux): maps by information content, NEVER byte value —
Derived (byte 1) → P4/P5, never P1; fail-closed demotion floor to P2.
P1 gates (tests/p1_gates.rs): round-trip serde, is_fusable verified receipt,
RuFieldFusion::ingest accept + infer runs, privacy-safety (Derived never P1),
full §3.3 table, fail-closed demotion, determinism, no-fabricated-position.
15 tests pass (5 unit + 9 integration + 1 doc), 0 failed.
Honesty: P1 plumbing (tested conversion + safe privacy mapping), NOT wired
into the live server (P3) and NOT an accuracy claim.

* docs(adr-262): mark P1 implemented + CI submodules:recursive + CHANGELOG/CLAUDE
- ADR-262 Status → "Proposed — P1 implemented"; add §0.1 Implementation
status (the bridge crate + the five P1 gates that pass; defers the
provenance-carrier reuse, P3 live wiring, and P4 multi-modality).
- ci.yml: add `submodules: recursive` to the rust-tests checkout so the new
crate's `vendor/rufield` path-deps resolve in CI (they fail otherwise even
though the workspace build passes locally with the submodule present).
- CHANGELOG [Unreleased]: P1 bridge entry (kept alongside the upstream
ADR-262 research entry).
- CLAUDE.md: crate table row for `wifi-densepose-rufield`.

Two real problems in the Static Application Security Testing job:
1. **It scanned a path that no longer exists.** `bandit -r src/` and
`semgrep … src/` pointed at the repo-root `src/`, but the Python code
moved to `archive/v1/src/` (64 .py files) when the runtime was rewritten
in Rust. So the SAST scan matched nothing — a silent no-op (this is also
why `bandit-results.sarif` was "Path does not exist" on recent runs).
Fixed both to `archive/v1/src/`.
2. **Deprecated + redundant + flaky semgrep step.** The
`returntocorp/semgrep-action@v1` step pulled `returntocorp/semgrep-agent:v1`
from Docker Hub every run (intermittently timing out → red check, e.g. on
#929) and is EOL. It was redundant: the pip `semgrep --sarif` step is what
feeds GitHub Security; the action only pushed to the Semgrep cloud app via
SEMGREP_APP_TOKEN. Removed it and folded its `p/docker` + `p/kubernetes`
rulesets into the pip semgrep command, so coverage is preserved with no
Docker pull.
The job stays `continue-on-error: true` (non-gating). YAML validated.
The Rust Workspace Tests job manually cached the whole `v2/target` via
actions/cache@v4. For a 38-crate workspace that dir is multi-GB, and several
CI runs this cycle intermittently died at the cache/setup step (after
toolchain install, before "Run Rust tests"), each needing a rerun.
Swatinem/rust-cache@v2 is the de-facto standard Rust CI cache: it caches the
cargo registry/git + a pruned target, evicts stale dependencies, and restores
large workspaces far more reliably and faster than a naive whole-target cache.
`workspaces: v2` points it at the v2/ cargo workspace.
Reliability/speed change — verified by observing subsequent main runs.
Since #915 the perf job gates only on test_frame_budget.py, which drives
the CSIProcessor pipeline in-process and makes no HTTP calls. The
"Start application" step (uvicorn + `sleep 10`) was therefore dead weight:
it existed only for the now-excluded api_throughput/inference_speed tests,
wasted ~10-15 s per main-push run, and dumped ~50 misleading
"router requires hardware setup" ERROR lines into every CI log for a
server no test touched. MOCK_POSE_DATA is server-only, unused here.
Removed the step and the vestigial env. The gated test is unchanged and
passes (verified locally, 3/3).
After #914 fixed collection, the perf job actually ran the suite and
exposed that test_api_throughput.py / test_inference_speed.py are TDD
red-phase stubs (every test suffixed `_should_fail_initially`) that time
a *mock that sleeps* — not a real perf signal. They carry machine-
dependent wall-clock asserts (actual_rps >= 40, batch_time < individual_time)
that are inherently flaky on shared CI runners, plus a cross-class
fixture-scope bug (`fixture 'standard_model' not found`). Result: 3 failed,
10 errored — by design, not a regression.
Forcing those green would manufacture a false signal. Instead, gate only
on test_frame_budget.py, which times the *real* CSIProcessor pipeline
against the ADR 50 ms per-frame budget (single-frame, p95/100-frames,
+Doppler) — a genuine regression guard. Verified locally: 3 passed.
The stub files remain in-repo for local TDD; they re-enter CI when their
features are implemented and the mock-timing asserts are made deterministic.
The Performance Tests job collected 26 items then aborted with
`ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'src'` on test_frame_budget.py,
which does `from src.core.csi_processor import CSIProcessor`. The bare
`pytest` console script does not put the cwd (archive/v1) on sys.path;
`python -m pytest` does. pytest aborts the whole session on a collection
error, so this one import masked the entire (otherwise mock-based,
self-contained) perf suite.
Verified locally: bare-script path reproduces the exact error; `-m`
resolves it and test_frame_budget.py passes 3/3. The other two files
(test_api_throughput.py mock server, test_inference_speed.py MockPoseModel
+psutil) are fully self-contained — no test hits the running server.
Closes the last red job in the v1-API CI chain (#910/#911/#913).
Two more latent v1-API CI bugs surfaced once #910/#911 let the jobs reach
their later steps:
- API Documentation: openapi generation now succeeds (psutil fix), but the
gh-pages deploy failed with HTTP 403 — the job had no `permissions` block
and GITHUB_TOKEN is read-only by default. Add `permissions: contents:
write`, and make the deploy `continue-on-error` (the openapi generation is
the real validation; Pages may be disabled).
- Performance Tests: ran `locust -f tests/performance/locustfile.py`, but
there is no locustfile — the suite is pytest (test_api_throughput.py,
test_frame_budget.py, test_inference_speed.py). Run pytest instead, with
working-directory: archive/v1 and MOCK_POSE_DATA=true.
ci.yml validated as well-formed YAML.
After the DensePoseHead startup fix (#910), the v1 API starts, but the
Performance Tests load-hit the pose endpoints which error "requires real
CSI data" (no hardware in CI, mock_pose_data defaults False), and the
API-docs job imports the app the same way. Set MOCK_POSE_DATA=true on both
jobs so they exercise the mock path. Verified: the env var maps to
settings.mock_pose_data=True (pydantic, no env_prefix).
(Note: Performance Tests is continue-on-error so this is cleanup, not a
run-blocker; the run-level red on main has been transient Docker Hub pull
timeouts on Tests/docker-build, which are infra flakes that pass on re-run.)
Definitive root cause of the failing determinism gate: the SHA-256 of
fixed-decimal-rounded features is bit-exact only WITHIN one CPU
microarchitecture. Windows and a second Linux box (ruvultra, identical
numpy 2.4.2/scipy 1.17.1) produce the same hash at every precision
(ca58956c), but the GitHub Azure runner diverges at EVERY precision
including 2 decimals (667eb054) — because pocketfft/BLAS reorders FP
reductions per-microarch and the ~1e-6 *relative* drift lands on
large-magnitude PSD bins as an absolute difference no fixed-decimal grid
can absorb. So no quantization can fix it; the primitive was wrong.
Fix: keep the bit-exact SHA-256 as the strong same-platform proof, and
add a relative-tolerance fallback (np.allclose, rtol=1e-4/atol=1e-6)
against a committed reference feature vector (expected_features_reference.npz,
36,800 float64 values). A run PASSES on either; tolerances sit ~100x over
the observed microarch drift and ~10x under any signal-meaningful change,
so real regressions still fail. Verified locally: bit-exact MATCH -> PASS,
and a corrupted hash falls through to TOLERANCE MATCH -> PASS. CI (Azure,
different hash) now passes via the tolerance path. Removes the temporary
sweep diagnostic.
Co-Authored-By: claude-flow <ruv@ruv.net>
verify.py's HASH_QUANTIZATION_DECIMALS is now overridable via
PROOF_HASH_DECIMALS. Finding: the determinism divergence is NOT
Windows-vs-Linux — Windows and a second Linux box (ruvultra, same
numpy/scipy) produce identical hashes at every precision, including
ca58956c at 6 decimals. Only the GitHub Azure CI runner diverges
(667eb054), i.e. a CPU-microarchitecture pocketfft/BLAS reordering
(the #560 Skylake-vs-Cascade-Lake class).
Temporary diagnostic sweep step prints the CI runner's hash at decimals
6..2 so we can pick the coarsest precision that collapses the
microarch divergence to the common hash. Both the sweep step and the
PROOF_HASH_DECIMALS plumbing are removed/finalized in the follow-up.
Co-Authored-By: claude-flow <ruv@ruv.net>
The determinism gate is path-filtered, but requirements-lock.txt (which
pins the numpy/scipy versions that *produce* the proof hash) was not in
the filter — so a dependency bump could silently drift the hash without
re-running the gate. That's how the 1.26.4 pin diverged from the
published ca58956c hash unnoticed. Add requirements-lock.txt to both the
push and pull_request path filters so this PR (and any future lock
change) actually re-runs verify.py.

The clippy job failed with "cargo-clippy is not installed for the
toolchain '1.89'". v2/rust-toolchain.toml pins channel "1.89" (profile
"minimal", no clippy); dtolnay@stable installed clippy on the floating
"stable" toolchain, but the override makes cargo use the separate "1.89"
toolchain in working-directory v2. Pin the toolchain input to "1.89" so
clippy lands on the toolchain cargo actually runs.
(The real clippy lint it then catches — manual_is_multiple_of — was fixed
in 29e698a05.)

Per direction "remove the initial number, optimize for benchmark first" + "include
witness chain capabilities for proof and repeatability analysis":
- Empty board, no seeded numbers: ledger seeds to genesis only. Every result is a
real scoring-pipeline witness; RuView gets no hand-entered baseline.
- Real model scoring: aa_score_runner now loads predictions + an eval split
(--split/--pred) and scores them through the real ruview_metrics pose harness —
not just a synthetic fixture. Committed public smoke split (fixtures/smoke_*.json).
- Witness chain: each score emits a witness = inputs_sha256 (binds it to the exact
inputs) + proof_sha256 (cross-platform-stable score hash) + harness_version.
- Repeatability analysis: --repeat N runs the harness N× and fails if it ever
yields >=2 distinct proof hashes (16/16 identical locally).
- Witness ledger: ledger/ledger_tools.py — append-only, hash-chained, tamper-
evident (seed/append/verify); editing any past row breaks the chain.
- CI gate extended: determinism + repeatability(16) + real-scoring smoke + ledger
chain verify on every PR.

AetherArena ("AA") — the official, project-agnostic Spatial-Intelligence Benchmark
(ADR-149, Accepted). Iteration 1 of the long-horizon build:
- ADR-149 accepted: name locked (ruvnet/aether-arena), v0 metrics locked
(pose/presence/latency/determinism), dataset legality resolved (MM-Fi CC BY-NC
only; Wi-Pose excluded). Adds four-part framing, threat model, arena_score
formula, submission state machine, neutrality/governance, and the §7 acceptance test.
- aa_score_runner: deterministic scorer bin reusing the real ruview_metrics pose
harness on a fixed seed=42 fixture → RuViewTier-style verdict + cross-platform
SHA-256 proof hash. Builds --no-default-features (no torch/GPU). VERDICT: PASS.
- CI harness gate: .github/workflows/aether-arena-harness.yml runs the scorer on
every PR — the "PR that runs the harness as part of the build" requirement.
- Scaffold: aether-arena/{README,VERIFY,STATUS}.md + schema/aa-submission.toml.
- Horizon record persisted (.claude-flow/horizons/aether-arena-aa.json).
Infra = the deliverable; model SOTA (MM-Fi PCK@20) is a separate effort blocked on
ADR-079 data collection, tracked as a stretch goal, not an infra exit.
